Description

Clément Rodzielski created for WE DO NOT WORK ALONE an edition of a silkscreen shower curtain after « Les Demoiselles d’Avignon » by Pablo Picasso. He only selected the eyes of each Demoiselle to be printed over this transparent surface, at the same place where they are in the original picture. Taking a shower feels like entering into the painting, being a part of it along with the Demoiselles. One can also feel being watched, a pleasant or awkward moment. 

Clément Rodzielski a French artist born in 1979, he currently lives and works in New York City. He is represented by galerie Chantal Crousel in Paris.

Description

Clément Rodzielski a conçu pour WE DO NOT WORK ALONE l’édition d’un rideau de douche sérigraphié d’après « Les demoiselles d’Avignon » de Picasso. Du tableau, il a extrait et transposé, à l’endroit même où ils se trouvent sur la toile, les yeux sur la matière transparente. Se doucher, c’est entrer dans le tableau, c’est rejoindre les demoiselles et participer à la peinture. Ce peut être aussi la sensation, plaisante ou déplaisante, d’être observé.e par elles.

Clément Rodzielski est un artiste français né en 1979, il habite et travaille actuellement à New York.

Le rideau de douche Les Demoiselles au bain est sa première collaboration avec WE DO NOT WORK ALONE.
